No More Moping!

I’ve just been reading back through my Journal to find information on my party poll and something struck me. I write about the good stuff that happens, but I’m very good at accentuating the negative. This fits with one of Mendi’s assessments of me – she pointed out that I chart my life as a series of setbacks, failures and disasters. I can’t help but agree and its one of the things that I’m trying to address with my psychologist.

Consequently, I’m going to try a lot harder to record the good things I achieve each day. I’m still going to be honest with myself and record the setbacks, but I’m going to try and be more positive.

I’m going to start with yesterday:

Successfully spoke to the Health Insurance Manager at work and got him to approve a series of overspends for my visits to the psychologist. Apparently, she charges more than PPP are normally prepared to pay. I’ve never been good at arguing my case over the phone and my depression has further eroded my confidence. It felt great when he agreed to what I wanted.

Started packing the office so it can be turned into Alexi’s bedroom – this job has been on my ToDo list for ages and it felt great to get it started.

Got Alexi to tear himself away from Black and White (Thanks [livejournal.com profile] user and [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke and start sorting the books on his bookshelf. He didn’t have a stop which was reassuring.

Went to the CAB and spent 2 hours talking about sickness benefits etc – I’ve had lots of problems with meeting strangers lately.

Spent a long time talking to Mendi about our relationship situation. We managed to remain on an adult:adult level and achieved an awful lot.

I’ve probably missed some stuff out but I think it’s a fair start.

And now here’s a poll……

[Poll #274989]
