Friday…
Seems quite a long time ago after a busy weekend, but I do remember that I was able to set off for work a bit later because I was up on my hours. I walked Maggie by the cold light of a new day and then laid a tray for [profile] the_mendicant's breakfast and got my stuff together. I'd just got in the car when I got a text message from my beloved:
T? xxx
How could I resist that? I dashed back into the house and took breakfast to her and helped myself to a bonus kiss before slogging across the country to work. The day dragged by and was so boring that I was actually looking forward to my appointment with my Shrink in the evening. Or perhaps I was looking forward to my first ever trip to a Gay Bar with Pixie after my session? I was quite disappointed when my Shrink called me to say that she had to cancel because she was stuck in London after being delayed giving evidence at the Old Bailey. However, It was still lovely to drive over and see Pixie. We toyed with the idea of heading into Leicester and picking up Plan A, but decided that we were both too tired and settled on a Chinese Takeaway (mmmm – Crispy Duck!), helping [profile] snowyfeline with her computing homework, baths and then bedzzzzz.

Saturday
Pixie and I were able to have a very pleasant and slow start to the day. We eventually got up and rushed around town before heading to Chez Who to share a lovely cooked brunch with [personal profile] robinbloke, Mendi and the boys. They didn't stay long as they were heading over to Cambridge. Before they went I stripped all but two passenger seats out of our people carrier so that Mendi and Robin could use it as a moving van for [personal profile] razornet and [personal profile] vyvyan.

After that, the house felt strangely quiet, and after picking Bob up from school I tucked Pixie up in bed again. She was complaining of flu-like symptoms and was starting to feel really grotty. I took a few minutes to tidy round the house and do some other chores before heading back into Oakham to collect [personal profile] crag_du and [profile] maneatingtigger from their train bus. Boo! To engineering works!

I got them home and much squishing was done be all. I didn't really do much for the rest of the evening apart from enjoying myself in the presence of a lovely fire, good food, fine wines, excellent music, hooky DVDs, a silly dog, a bouncy feline, a manic badger, a purring tigger, and a poorly pixie. Rar! :@)

Sunday
Pixie was feeling much worse when we woke and so I let her sleep for as much as possible. I spent lots of time with our guests and still managed to slay the ironing beast and do my Cinderella act with the fire and the Rayburn. I took Badger, Tigger and the girls back at 7pm and came home to find that Mendi and the boys were home. I knocked together some supper for my brood and then we had a quiet evening by the fire and watching TV.

A chilled end to great weekend

We caught the first episode of Paul Whitehouse's new comedy Help. What did you think? I was intrigued and will definitely watch some more. A strange mix of the tragic and the funny with a killer punch in the last line that I should have seen coming.

Your time is up now – goodbye!
