Bye-bye Blighty
Dec. 8th, 2002 10:48 amIt's Sunday and I'm sitting in Singapore Airlines' lounge at Heathrow waiting for my flight to be called. I'm both excited to be going and resigned to the fact that I'll be a long way away from the people I love. However, keeping in touch is so much easier now and I've packed Alexi's Lego WebCam so I should be able to find the time to do a netmeeting to Ivan's cam back home.
Hmmm let's see. What's been happening since I last updated on Wednesday. Well, Milan was a successful trip and I will have to go back out for a follow-up in the New Year as well as spending up to a week in Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Beauvais (North of Paris) and Milan again. It looks like 2003 is going to be another travelling year for me - it looks as if I'm going to be spending plenty of time travelling between different European businesses as well as a possible trip to Oz in the Spring. Its all go!
I got back from Milan at about 22:00 on Thursday and found a very exhausted Mendi who had not even stated her packing for her trip to Prague. I set to and helped her to sort everything out before collapsing into bed alongside the LOML at 23:30. Irritatingly, my brain would not shut down and I ended up pottering about the house and spodding on the net until about 01:00. Mendi's alarm went off all too soon at 03:10 and I helped her get underway with a hug and a cuddle before crawling into bed, only to be woken up by Ivan looking for a cuddle at 06:30 - urgh.
It was a barely human WHOTHEHECKAMI who saw his boys across to school and drove into work. I did a lot of desk clearing and planning, but the characters were dancing their own way across the screen by 14:30 and so I made my excuses and headed home.
The evening was spent in the company of many of the USUAL SUSPECTS and ALexi, Ivan and I ended up going to the pub fora meal sales meeting in the company of
chaoshedgerow, Pixie, ARB, Hedge's friend Daniel and the two camels. Alexi got hold of the digi-cam and blatted off 16MB of camels: kissing, smoking, drinking etc, etc.
We tottered back up the hill to Chez Who's, had some more drinks and then I said my g'byes before realising that Alexi and Ivan were still awake at midnight.
Night all zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
