What has been happening?
Apr. 2nd, 2003 12:44 pmWell I have been missing Mendi, but then I always miss her. I’ve also been missing my other loved ones (I trust they know who they are). I’ve also realised that I’ve hardly done any flirting since she left – I must be all flirted out!
There have been a couple of hiccups on the work side in the last day or so and this means that I have had to postpone the final data load by a day. There are no real issues with doing it later and it will still be better than last year. I should be able to handle the communication to make others realise that we have done the “right thing” by not slavishly sticking to an arbitrary go-live date.
I was so tired when I left work last night that I decided to have a quiet evening so I went to a nearby Indian restaurant and read whilst getting my fingers all yellow by being to lazy to use a fork. Got back to the room and chilled out in front of the TV with a bottle or two of Orangeboom from the mini-bar and a smoke of Haarlem’s finest. Unsurprisingly, I slept well :@)
In work now and have had great fun working out how to get home tomorrow. I have delayed my departure to find that the only other flight to East Midlands was fully booked. I considered chartering
chaoshedgerow and Little Wing to pick me up, but realised that getting approval from work would be an experience I’d prefer not to have; instead I settled on flying to Birmingham and grabbing a cab to East Midlands.
I’m now looking forward to the weekend, which promises to be packed full with domestic chores such as running Alexi and Ivan to Archeology Club and a big Warhammer bash at Games Workshop. I’ve also got to send out tender/quotation requests for the Conservatory and make a start on moving our vegetable plot from a village allotment to
gardenpixie’s huge garden.
See you all
