How things change
Apr. 17th, 2003 10:33 amWell I'm at home now - a day earlier than expected!
This would normally be A blody great thingTM but the circumstances of my early return to the UK are those I would prefer to avoid.
I arrived at my desk in Beauvais in good time for a meeting with Michel, the General Manager to receive a call from a very poorly
the_mendicant. She was having terrble chest pains and shortness of breath! I immediately said that I would do what I could to get back earlier and made sure that someone would look after the boys and the dog (thanks a million to
gardenpixie,
deamongirl and Kanga (Jo)).
I e-mailed my boss, told him the circumstances and suggested that I completed my interviews for Wednesday and drive back during the evening. He would hear nothing of it and insisted that I set off straight away! Top Man!
You can imagine how stressed and worried and was during my return journey, but thankfully it was a smooth one and I arrived home at 17:00.
Mendi was still feelng lousy, but was taking advice and taking things very easy. I looked after her and made her comfort food - posh Macaroni cheese (my special homemade cheeses sauce with apple juice and dijon mustard)
We had a quiet evening with Daemongirl stoppng over whilst Pixie went to see her Fiddler at Folk Club
They've both gone now and I've just written and e-mailed by interim audit report into work. I now have a sunny day ahead of with a few chores, but strict instructions to get out of the house and leave Mendi to rest.
Bye y'all
