This seems about right...

My inner child is ten years old today

My inner child is ten years old!

The adult world is pretty irrelevant to me. Whether
I'm off on my bicycle (or pony) exploring, lost
in a good book, or giggling with my best
friend, I live in a world apart, one full of
adventure and wonder and other stuff adults
don't understand.

Well, just for a moment to thank you all for you kind support and hugs to [profile] the_mendicant and me. We’re getting on with life now and will let the other thing slip as far to the backs of our minds as we can.

Last night, as part of this plan not to think about stuff, we went out to the cinema to see Pirates of the Caribbean. Ah-har me hearties! What a great film and just the sort of escapism we needed. Alexi and Ivan loved the special effects and I saw that Ivan had incorporated some of the imagery into a drawing he started at breakfast. Thoroughly recommended.

I’ve not gone into work again today because the IBS is only just starting to settle and I feel like my guts have been stamped on by at least 3 herds of elephants. I’m pottering around the house with Mendi and doing what chores I feel up to. She is tackling our monthly accounts (which she hasn’t done for two months!) and is ransacking the house to find a wodge of paperwork that seems to have disappeared. I don’t think I’ve thrown tidied it away.

Oh and by the way, it’s officially Autumn at Chez Who. I cleaned out and re-lit our Rayburn yesterday and so the kitchen was a toastie 24 deg C when I went down to make breakfast this morning – bliss! We’ve also got unlimited hot water gushing into our water tank – long soaky baths are here :@D

You can call me EFF and I live in his nice black Dell PC. Whotheheckami uses me to store all his photos of the Unusual Suspects and lots and lots of music. I’ve worked hard for a few years on another PC before Whotheheckami popped me into the Dell. However, I’m feeling a little poorly at the moment.

It was fine for a few weeks in the Dell but now Windows XP keeps Checking the File System on F: every time it boots up and telling me that I’m Fat and Dirty (*1). Then it takes some time verifying all the nice files and folders that I look after. It even tells me that I have a few problems with some of my files(*2). As if! It then carries on looking at my free space and that is when a problem occurs. It starts to look, but stops and hangs after it has only looked at the first 1%.

Whotheheckami is close to useless when it comes to PCs and doesn’t know how he can tell Windows XP to skip the File System Check on start up and look at me when the PC has booted up. Can you help him to make me feel better.

Thanks

EFF

Your soul is worth £43794. For your peace of mind, 16% of people have a purer soul than you.

Was I honest? Would you buy a soul from me? ;@)
