I haven't been able to make such an upbeat post as this for some time and boy am I pleased and relieved to do it!

Friday evening saw pretty much all of us chilling out and watching the previous night's Black Books and [profile] the_mendicant indoctrinating poor [personal profile] robinbloke to Bridget Jones' Diary - he is being assimilated! Mendi had made a superb lasagne which we duly scoffed - mmmmm! A lovely time was had by all. Later on Pixie helped me to find something that I had lost [mega-bounce]

I took [profile] daemongirl to school on Saturday morning, then did the weekly shop before returning to walk Maggie and say adieu to Robin.

Mendi, the boys and I then spent the rest of the day being terribly busy doing absolutely NOTHING! It was wonderful and something we don't do nearly enough of. We slept, we watched DVDs, we talked, we snuggled, we had "quality time" and it did us good.

In the evening we went out for dinner at our friend's house. Mendi knew how much our host would ogle her cleavage and dressed accordingly. He had plenty to see and she assured me that she felt she should have eye-ball prints on her by the end of the evening. Despite that (or perhaps because of it) we had a great evening with them. The food and wine were excellent and the conversation ranged from the new Norah Jones album to progressive theatre by way of Doctrinal worship in both Christian and Pagan traditions. Most invigorating. Sadly, Mendi and I behaved ourselves and we got nowhere near the subject of Poly. We came home after midnight and snuggled each other to sleep.

We continued to have an exhausting time on Sunday (not) and just occupied ourselves with a slow progress through the normal chores. It was Mother's Day and so Mendi got her presents and pampering, but still insisted on getting togged up for DIY and proceeded to plaster over cracks in the ceiling and to paint loft hatches. [personal profile] hawkida and [profile] tobesv joined us in the middle of the afternoon and we all sat down together to eat and then to watch Love Actually on DVD. It was a lovely cosy evening and the film suited the mood. We were a bit concerned beforehand that Tobes would not like it because of the distinct lack of explosions. We needn't have worried. His laughs were almost loud enough to drown the film out for the rest of us. Thoroughly recommended.

Max and Tobes headed home at the end of the evening and Mendi and I tidied up and the collapsed into bed, tired but very, very happy.
