This is the weekend that is....
Apr. 17th, 2005 04:10 pmI'm just taking a break for being a Tower of Strength to say that I am in a damn good mood. Mendi and I have had a lovely weekend together despite her feeling so grotty. We had a chilled evening on Friday night and sat with Alexi to watch Neverwhere. Mendi and had missed this when it was first aired and are enjoying it immensely. There are lots of little proto-goths running around in the background and we've each found more than few people to droooool over ;@)
Saturday saw us getting actively political and distributing leaflets in Oakham market place for our LibDem candidate. We both got reasonable feedback from the people we spoke to and I only had to restrain myself once when some beer-bellied maggot told me that he wouldn't be voting for any party that would still let "any fucking sticking immigrants into the country!" Such a charming chap.
In the afternoon we took the boys and three of their fiends to see Valiant. This was a good family film, but not in the same class as Shrek or anything by Pixar. We got home in good time to walk Maggie and then sit down En famile avec nos amis to watch Dr Who. It'll be odd not to watch it with Mendi next weekend.
I've had a good day today. I took Maggie for a long walk this morning whilst Mendi devoured the Sunday papers. The sun was shining brightly and spring was all around me. The verdant greenery lifted my spirits made me feel bloody great!
Well that's enough of an update for now. I'm off to do some ironing and finish cooking dinner for us.
Toodle-pip! :@)
