These bloody germs do get around. I seem to have succumbed to the lurgy that struck Kate down at the end of last week. On Friday morning, I returned from a lovely evening with friends I haven't seen for too long and felt disticntly sub-optimal. However, I put that down to the copious quantities of red wine I'd consumed with much gusto. Silly me! BY Saturday, I felt as if I had been run over by a steam-roller and doing anything physical seemed to take far more enegry than it should. The arrival of the delightful [personal profile] sarah_mum was able to restore my perk to something nearing normasl levels and we summmoned up the energy to re-paint my bedroom. We set off a magnolia-bomb. I know magnoilia is as dull as ditch-water, but it makes sense if the house is going to be sold.

I was pretty much shattered by this and I could barely help Sarah make dinner for the 4 of us. We retired to a nest on the sitting room floor and I had a very rough night. I woke at about 4 with a raging temperature, agonising aches in every part of my body and a sense of balance that seemed to have deserted me as I made my way to the bathroon - nice! There was little peace for the wicked as I had to check the stock on the farm and help Sarah to do the second coat of paint on the bedroom. I was wrecked when we did go to bed last night and had a very entertaining night dreaming strange fevered dreams.

It's Monday now and my temperature is still all over the place. I'm achy and shivvery. However, I have plenty of company. Sarah is fast asleep having spent the first half of the morning wobbling around the house and looking very pale, whilse complaining of feeling hot; and Alexi has also been struck down and is giving my sickness a run for its money. Finally, Kate has contacted me to say that her lurgy is no better ad she is staying at Robin's until tomorrow morning. As a result of all this illness, I've just had to go into Oakham to buy up a strategic supply of paracetamol. Unfortunatley, the ridiculous nanny-state rules mean that I can only buy 32 at a time so I've had to trek around 4 shops to make the trip worth my while. Exactly at the point where I really don't need to be venturing out at all, let alone spreading my germs far and wide.

I've come to the conculsion that I really am ill. I have no desire for chocolate and I don't seem to be "in the mood" for other forms of R&R! Call the knacker-man now!!! Whilst I wait for him to arrive I will change my t-shirt 'cos it is soaked with sweat, take some more paracetamol, drink loads of water and try to get some more sleep.
