Not feeling too great this morning (= back is bad again) so I'm staying away from work.
I'll use today to catch up on paperwork and chores around the house (= spod)

Had the misfortune to watch Underworld:Evolution with Ev last night. Truly awful to the nth degree. Not even Kate Beckinsale in a rubber and corsetry could redeem it. Still, I cooked him a roast dinner and got him a goth DVD so he was more than happy. He's also now got a full length balck velvet cloak so he really is a filthy goffick! He'll have to give the cloak back though as it is part of his costume for his role as Prospero in his school's (abbreviated) production of the Tempest on Saturday. Sarah is coming up this weekend to see it.

Meanwhile here is somehting that we found at the farm yesterday.... )

Just a quick note to let you know that the next time I will be flogging my meat for the farm at Broadway Market in Hackney will be on Sat 22 July. Hopefully I will be accompanied by my beautiful assistant ). We'll probably opt for the frighteningly early start, but could be talked into joining any post-market revels.

I will also be driving the re-supply wagon to our stall at Borough Market on the evenings of 18 and 25 July. This entails we leaving the farm at 5ish, driving to Southwark and unloading a Transit full of meat in the evening and then driving back to the farm. Not exactly exciting is it; however, things would be livened up if anyone would like to meet me in the area for a swift shandy or two. What do you think?

I should have told you about this ages ago.

This is to let you all know that Northfield Farm will be having its Open Weekend on 8th and 9th July.

The farm will be open from 10am until 3pm each day and there will be lots to do.

Clarissa Dickson Wright will be joining us to chat and sign copies of her books. I may even persuade her to cook something up in the wonderful burger wagon. We'll have Pimms to drink and wonderful ales from Oakham's Grainstore brewery. Between meals you'll be able to explore the farm and see the animals and learn about breed conservation and "slow food" production. We've also invited a numebr of stall holders to join us and you'll be able to purchase items from local artists and crafts people including jewellery made by [personal profile] sarah_mum.

There'll be plenty for the children to do. They can make their own pizza in a wood fired oven and even make their own fruit juice. There will also be giant toya and a bouncy castle. Entertainment will be provided by a blues band and circus skills from the fine hands of [personal profile] flannelcat and [profile] penguin_worship

Come and join us!
