You don't need to ask about the weekend. [personal profile] sarah_mum came up to see me and we had a really good time. We nested on the floor, made and ate mounds of sushi and generally had a lovely time. It wasn't all R&R as I was in charge of the stock at the farm and had to check up on them three times each day. I also had a fair bit of parenting to do; all of it pleasant. On Saturday, Evan had a the lead role as Prospero in his school's performance of The Tempest. He played it as Goth as he could (now there's a suprise!). He really was rather good and received a letter of congratulation from Principal Skinner Green for his performance. He should be reprising the role in the Autumn as part of a national theatre competition. My other boy came back to me too. Alex returned from his school watersports trip to France. He told us tales of adventure, fun and chav girls doing their make up before going canoeing! He wasn't very impressed with them. He's far more in the Ray Mears mode.

So, the weekend came to an end. Sarah went back to Cheltenham and Kate came home. Work is very busy this week as prpearations for the Open Weekend move on apace. Yesterday I helped with the genral clean up of equipement from the weekend; whereas today I've really been a farmer. Its been very hot. Not unbearable, just very hot. I can cope with it and work in it. However, it is really draining regardless of how much water I manage to drink. Consequently, I'm taking things easy this evening and will probably try and get an early night.
