Pain in the neck!

I felt rotten this morning and decided to take the day off. I've kept myself busy looking for jobs (without much success) and had a good rest. I've just made a big pan of lamb tikka massala and it's bubbling away on the Rayburn. It it's a success I may try and make a mutton tikka massala with some of the superb mutton that we've got at the farm. In fact I feel a lot better now and I think I'm going to give ironing a try. Wish me luck ;@)

Good luck with ironing - I am about to try and cook Welsh cakes without the obligatory griddle (and while slightly tipsy on bubbly)... should be interesting!

Luck - and no more injuries!

I'm glad you're giving yourself a bit of a holiday. It sounds overdue. And I'm drooling at the thought of the lamb ...

How did the Welsh Cakes go?

I ended up making a Mutton Stew with potatoes, carrots and onions. It was absolutely fantastic. It's the first time I've ever cooked with mutton and I was so impressed with everything...taste, tenderness, texture mmmmm

They *actually* tasted like Welsh Cakes! I was over the moon :-D

What about your ironing?!?!

I managed. My neck is still bad, but I'm getting a lot more done. It was bloody aching after a whole day of cooking yesterday.

Mmmm. I've never cooked with mutton either. Elderly lamb, yes, but not mutton. I love a nice stew, though. What did you use for seasonings?

[identity profile] whotheheckami.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
Very little - just some mixed herbs, bay leaves, salt, pepper and a tiny ammount of mint. The meat had such a good flavour that it didn't need it.
