We're off to sunny Spain!

I'm on my travels again and this week I'll mostly be in Madrid. I'm here with my Italian colleague Lucia to carry out a full audit of our Spanish business. We'll be joined later in the week by Paul - a new starter with the team and the business.

I'll tell you more about Spain later but, as is customary for a Monday I shall tell you about my thrilling weekend:

Friday
Work was work but I managed to get quite a bit done and only seemed to suffer minor LJ withdrawal symptoms! I'm glad I killed off all of my shortcuts/favourites because I'm sure I would have cracked during a quiet moment.
I escaped at a reasonable time and headed home. However, I seemed to arrive home with a Pixie who joined Alexi and I in the no-holds-barred excitement of the weekly shop at Tesco. Meanwhile, Mendi returned to work to continue with the preparations for the Open Day. We were all duly reunited for an exhausted evening and an early night.

Northfield Farm Open Day
Action Stations were called at 07:00 as Mendi & I rushed to get things done before heading to the farm. We got there at 08.30 and very quickly got stuck into the work. At first the weather looked very dodgy, but it soon brightened up and we soon wishing for a bit of shade. The good weather seemed to bring the crowds out and we later estimated that we had about 800 visitors.

We expected all the punters to want to meet the star guests: Clarissa Dixon Wright and Johnny Scott. However, everybody made a bee-line to the stables were there were two litters of 1 week-old Gloucester-old-spot piglets to see. These proved to be one of the star attractions and consumed the attention of the local TV reporters that Mendi had talked into coming along. I had plenty to keep me busy and didn't have time to draw breath until well into the afternoon. Unsurprisingly, at one point I ended up in the kitchen; chopping a mountain of onions to keep the hot dog & burger cookers happy. I was so busy that I could hardly find time to flirt!

Things eased off in the afternoon and I was able to chat with some of our friends who had turned up and schmooze with the other stall-holders. Clarissa and Johnny were particularly forthcoming in their praise for Alexi who had been looking after a stall selling organic fizzy drinks and juices. They were convinced that he has all the signs of being a sales-wizard!

We all got home by 19.00 and I did try and persuade Mendi that it was a good idea for us all to go over to the Wrong Person’s house for his Beach BBQ. Unfortunately, I was the only one of us with any energy and so I snuggled my Mendi and boys to bed and popped over to Pixie’s to give her some TLC and moral support.

Lazy Sunday?
Not blooming likely! Chores, chores, chores and more chores. The Archers Omnibus was not long enough this week because I still had a basket of ironing to get through when Desert Island Discs came on and it was a stupid DID because there was hardly any pop music – grrr! Somewhere along the line I went out and rented Animatrix for Ivan, but we all sat doen and watched it and enjoyed it immensly – See it Now!

Just another Manic Monday/b>
Up at 05:30 to drive down to Oxford for a breakfast meeting, then more meetings until I headed to Heathrow to get out to Spain – I’m shattered now and so will post this and go zzzzz
