Douglas (21:41:01): See Mel's latest post. :( Scarlatti (21:41:13): I know. :( I hope he'll be all right.... Douglas (21:41:57): It's at variance with his last conversation with his boss, about forthcoming travels. Scarlatti (21:42:17): That's what I thought -- they had several trips lined up for him. Douglas (21:42:34): HR and Boss not talking? Scarlatti (21:42:42): Wouldn't surprise me at all. Scarlatti (21:43:00): Maybe boss should have a word with HR? Is there anything HR know that boss doesn't? Douglas (21:43:47): Comment to that effect? Scarlatti (21:44:00): Me? Douglas (21:44:14): Why not? You said it first. Douglas (21:44:23): Or shall I quote the chat log? Scarlatti (21:44:42): You can quote, if you like.
Thanks folks - I think its more of a case of the boss fucking me about, or my boss adopting the shape of the last arse that sits on him. In this case on from HR
We'll meet tomorrow and relax around a cuppa... Get plan B in gear (usual boss blackmail ie Internet, get copy via friends of emails relating to decisions taken ie your work/travels/talks between directors, Data Protection Act, discrimination with regards to health ie physical/blood pressure condition, working conditions at work, union - you got a case so you can join a union and you can get represented straight away, next day even, if they feel you got a case, which you have).
By law, THEY are not allowed to a) arrange for an informal meeting without telling you what it is about beforehand b) arrange for note taking/minutes like an official meeting c) not sending you a copy of notes/minutes of illegal meeting if any d) you can postpone talks/meeting until you join the union and get a representative to go to meetings with you. Let the rep. talk e) you shouldn't go to meetings without someone from the Union.
So far as I can see, they are trying to get rid of you. The sneaky way. Be smarter than them and deal with things before they can react by dropping the ultimate weapon from hell. They will be at a loss so you may even end up by leaving but with possible compensation for not warning you by doing their stuff behind your back. After all, by doing so, what can you loose? Leave the place with dignity. Other workers will respect you for that.

That job has been a bit of a disaster lately, hasn't it?
Best of luck finding something more suitable.
