It was such a nice day in Friday and it was the boys' last day of term that I decided that the sore throat and general cold symptoms I had been coping with were much worse and I "took a sicky" - Yay!

I didn't feel a moment's guilt as I drove home through the lanes of Rutland and took time to appreciate the advent of spring in the hedgerows and in the fields (mmmm Spring Lamb!)

I invited [livejournal.com profile] gardenpixie and [livejournal.com profile] daemongirl to join me at the church for the school's end of term service. The boys both had speaking parts and bothe Alexi and Ivan were excelent and read clearly and with lots of feeling and inflection - I think Pixie was as proud as me!

We spent the rest of the day quietly as I was not feeling great. Pixie pooped back to her place for a surprise visit from The Fiddler, but she was soon back to help Mendi and I finish some lovely red wine and have a smoke. I dozed whilst they fast forwarded through the boys' Easter present (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets) to find all the Snape and Lucius Malfoy bits.

The three us cuddled together in front of the fire and completed a lovely evening.

My cold came back to haunt me yesterday and I felt awful. I still managed to get quite a few chores done, but needed plenty of naps to keep me going. Went over to The Landlady's (Lizzie - Pixie's lovely landlady) for dinner whilst Daemongirl kept an eye on Alexi and Ivan.

The company, drink and food were wonderful, but I was not up to and was glad when Mendi and I could politely head home before 23:00

Ah well, I feel more human today and so I sould be OK to drive down to Laaaaarnden to meet for Pink Drinks before heading over to La Belle Franc tomorrow morning.
