...Have been pretty good. Although I am getting a bit behind with writing up audit reports at work. I suppose I’ll have to make more of an effort over the next couple of weeks because I’ll be off on my travels after that: About a week in each of Madrid, Milan, Tokyo, Sydney and Singapore before the middle of August – well at least I may get a tan, but I doubt if Mendi, Alexi, Ivan and Maggie will remember who I am!

Daemongirl and Pixie came round on Wednesday and stayed for dinner before Pixie borrowed the Fiat and went to see her Fiddler at Folk Club. Mendi went out to walk her boss’ dogs and dragged it out for ages in the vain hope that she would meet him when he got back from wherever he’d been for the day. I was left with Daemongirl who was not in a good mood at all. She made a good attempt at washing my shirt with tears, but she seemed to calm down after hugs from Mendi and I.

Mendi and I snuggled into bed and I peered over her shoulder and sort of read the trashy historical fiction novel she was reading. It was a medieval setting and there was lots of fine rumpy pumpy going on. Mendi didn’t seem to object when I treated her in the same way as one of the lusty serving wenches in the book! And no, I didn’t make her go and get me a flagon of foaming beer ;@)

Yesterday evening was a bit rushed as Mendi and I hurried to get to the CPRE AGM by 19.00. We made it with 2 minutes to spare and congratulated ourselves. You can safely say that we did more than endure the evening. In fact we enjoyed ourselves with the help of few glasses of well chilled Pinot Grigio. However, the low spot of the evening was dining with three individuals whose political leanings and racist viewpoint would have made Attila the Hun proud. I would love to OUT the individuals concerned, but that is not my style and Mendi commented that I contained myself very well and was not too sarcastic or agressive in my challenges to their viewpoints.

We were home by 23.00 and found a quiet little baby-sitting Pixie sitting on our patio enjoying a smoke. I joined her and we chatted and had phone calls with people until very late o-clock. I left Pixie to sleep on the sofa and snuggled in with Mendi.
