whotheheckami: (Piston Broke! - Car Stuff)
I need to decide what to do with my car following its breakdown on the way to Wales. The problem was traced to a thoroughly blown cylinder head gasket ). This was diagnosed with a compression test which showed 100% compression on No 1 cylinder, 0% on 2 and 3, but 40% on No 4. The mechanic reground the valves on 2,3 and 4, replaced the gasket and put it all back together. However, they didn't do another compression test before handing it back to me because I they were muppets and I was hassling them for the car. The car is running fine now, but I'm concerned about that pressure drop on cylinder 4. Should I?

1. Ignore it, don't worry, re-grinding the valves will have sorted it.
2. Get a compression test sorted when I get a chance.
3. Panic! Get it to a garage today.

Both a me day and a meh day!

I spent Saturday and Sunday working for the farm at markets in London and did an exhausting 29 hours over the two days. I ran two excellent shows and handed over a considerable wodge of money to The Master. At least he has plenty of spending money for his holiday in Provence. Consequently, I'll be in charge of all the livestock at the farm for the next ten days or so. I've just found out that on Wednesday I'm also needed to turn 70 lbs of lamb into Lamb with Apricot ready meals. Guess my plans of spending Wednesday morning having a slow drive back from seeing my Cheltenham Chum are on hold. Boo!

I was utterly exhausted as I drove back from London and was very relieved when I discovered that [profile] the_mendicant and The Master had been plotting and had decided that I needed a day off today. I didn't realise how tired I was until the middle of this morning when I felt like a puppet whose strings had been cut. I've got some rest since then, but still feel like a rag-doll.

The weekend wasn't all work though and I was able to enjoy the hospitality of [personal profile] alexmc on Saturday night and I finally got to visit the home of the bouncy [profile] maneatingtigger on my way home on Sunday. It was lovely to meet everyone there and I'm sure I'll be visiting again soon - The Master is already muttering about me doing more work in London.
