A significant event
Sep. 21st, 2005 06:44 pmI've just realised that today was the first day that I've ever been paid to actually cook real food as opposed to being paid for tossing burgers. I got my chef's gear on and cooked up 40lbs of finest lamb into a yummy lamb and aprocot casserole. I was pretty nervous about it, despite having lots of experience of cooking huge batches of food for parties. However, everything turned out brilliantly and I've had lots of very flattering feedback from other members of staff. That really perked me up :@)
Back to work tomorrow and guess what? I'm cooking again. This time it will be Thai Green Chicken Curry and Lamb Jalfrezi. I've also spotted quite a bit of duck in the freezer and so I think and duck, star anise and orange casserole is just around the corner as well as ahuge batch of liver and onions. However, I've no idea what to do to the 6 or so turkeys that appear to be in there. I could jsut make Turkey curries, but I'm looking to you for interesting suggestions.
I'm off to have my supper now - no prozes for guessing that it's Lamb and Apricot Casserole
