I had a great weekend in the company of lovely people. Friday and Saturday saw me in the company of my wonderful Really Bloody Marvelous Chum who let me escort her to B-Movie and we were like "out together" - bounce! There was lots of fun and silliness with glow sticks and medical implements etc etc. [personal profile] drpete made a wonderful alien autopsy surgeon and I discovered that glo-stick juice is ewwww nasty!. The country mouse had a really good time in town and I was party to taking all the Lust that was on offer in more ways than one!

Saturday and Sunday saw me back in Rutland. I had intended to go straight to Pixie's, but I got a call from [profile] the_mendicant and had to go and Re-felt our Shed! She was feeling poorly and so I stayed to do another couple of chores for her to enable her to have a more relaxed time when [personal profile] robinbloke was there. Pixie and I still had time together before driving up to Nottingham to randomly cruise the mean streets in search of action! We found it in the terms of the athletic [personal profile] darth_tigger who was on her way to 's party. We had a great time there and watched [personal profile] hawkida communing with the fire gods for most of the evening. I was disappointed when I was discouraged from supplying more firewood - I know it was in the form of the neighbor’s shed, but it would have burnt a treat!

I was so tired when I was driving home that the only thing that could keep me alert was Green Day's superb album American Idiot being played VERY loud! Pixie and I had a lovely relaxed morning together before heading over for a walk in Wakerly Woods (that was where I once met the Wild Wagon Woman of Wakerly Woods). I wasn't feeling too well by this time and so I was glad to go to Pixie's parents where I could lie done in the sun and charge up my solar cells. Kate called again to say she wasn't too well and so Pixie and I went over to give her a hand with stuff before Pixie headed home.

A lovely weekend.

On Monday I had to get a haircut and I sulked! Just call me Samson :@(

Monday evening saw me finding the time to cook up sausages and mash for us all before rushing Maggie round the block and heading across to a CPRE meeting. Mendi had missed the last 2 or 3 of these due to illness and Cambridge and the meeting had been specially scheduled so that she could attend. Guess what? She was ill again. I had to fend off a few joking enquiries from the Chairman as to whether my patio had space for any more bodies! Perhaps I'll have to build Robo-Mendi before the next meeting!

Last night's interview seemed to go OK. I was confident and answered their questions fully and used their questions to highlight the areas of my experience that closely matched their requirements. I should hear if I've got a second interview by the end of this week. In the meantime JobServe is my friend.

There was a bit of confusion in the evening. Mendi dropped Ivan off at his Moviemaker's club in Stamford as she was on the way to spend the night in Cambridge. She raced southwards to get a plaintive phone call from Ivan to say that there was no Moviemakers that night. I had planned to collect him, but was still in my interview. Mendi couldn't well turn back from going to see Robin and so she called the cavalry! Pixie to the rescue! She immediately drove out from Oakham to collect a very dejected Ivan and brought him home. I stopped for chippies on the way back from my interview and we sat down and had a lovely supper together.

You've done a demi-marathon and you certainly looked it as you struggled up the road before carrying all and sundry. We thought you were the party ;@)

I certainly brought a DIY party with me, and got offers from some fishermen along the canal to stay and have a party with them!

That's just an excuse to get near to the chest, isn't it.
