I'm not sure how common this is, but I've just noticed that our local Arts Cinema allows you to request your own film. You suggest a film that you want to see on the big screen. Send them £105 and get 20 tickets. They schedule the film and you and your friends go along along wiht any other members of the public who want to go. It sounds like a great idea for a present but has got me wondering what film I'd like to see. Obviously Midnight Cowboy is up there as one of my choice. However, what would you like to see on the Big Screen?

Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark and A New Hope in its original form would all be on my list as well

OMG! Two of the most neglected sci-fi movies.
Silent Running is one of absolute fav films, and I always cry at the end. :-(

for some reason the Crow pops into my mind, but I'm sure there are other films I'd like to see up there too.

I've just come down with that HMV syndrome.

yeah, when you step into HMV and suddenly forget all the bands and artists you like.

It applies to most music and film shope.

It's a bit like fridge syndrome then - when you're watching TV and get up to go for a beer. You get to fridge, only to find you've forgotten why you've gone to the fridge. Apparently its akin to senility and only supra-geiuses suffer from it! ;@)

That's strange, because if I've forgotten what I am going to do if I go and look in the fridge it invariably helps me remember what I was about to do!

It's a great idea, provided you have the power to boot out any of the 'ordinaries' who become annoying.

I think I'd have to go for a grand scale 'classic' that I've only ever seen in diddly-vision.

Citizen Kane
The Godfather
Laurence of Arabia
Casablanca
True Grit (OK, not a classic classic, but I love it!)

Or something utterly silly, like an old Disney or a 50's musical.
