I seem to have pains everywhere. One feature of the run up to Christmas and the Christmas break was lots and lots of pain. Pain in my shoulder, pain in my neck, pain in my lower back. I put it down to the work at the farm; crunched my way through pain killers and just got on with it. However, it doesn't seem to have got any better. I returned to the farm yesterday and managed to do something nasty to my lower back. I was in the process of trying to roll-out the silage bale from hell and something sort of went and felt all rippy and warm and gave me so much pain it wasn't funny. Whenj I got back on my feet again I was able to carry on and finish my work. I've made it into work today on strong painkillers and Japanese Muscle Relaxant patches. However,I don't have an easy day and will be spending it bent over the sheep (enjoy your sniggers!)

I know I need to rest my back, but I also know that we need me to work. I really hate being on the horms of a dilemma; it makes me very, very wibbly. And the Tramadol doesn't help much either - wheee!

I've been to the Doctor's and am waiting for a physio referral - that usually takes a copule of weeks...but it hurts NOW!

Hello Kettle, its pot! We're both black. However, the reason I don't post LJ at the farm is entirely about protecting our private life. I've told you numerous times that your internet use is monitored. I still feel concerned about you posting from there.

Hope the drugs work xxx

Well they are making me feel floaty and strange, but not touching the pain. Hopefully the Tramadol will kick in soon. However, having tried some time ago, I know that I can't function on 2.

If you are feeling floaty you really shouldn't be driving or operating heavy machinery. Be careful. :-)

Best not then :)
Are you feeling any better?
If you are home then a nice hot bath, booze and bed would probably be a good plan - I intend to do the very same myself as it happens!

Is there anything [livejournal.com profile] the_mendicant can do for you at home after work, massage etc?

She just about managed to get a Japanese Patch successfully applied this morning. She would love to be able to help, but her broken arm is seriously limiting her ability to do any massage.

Hot baths with the sheep?
Have you got an electric blanket to lie on for a bit? Mine really helps with period pains.
Anyone who could help out for a day or two so you could give the heavy stuff a rest?
Could you get the sheep on a raised platform so you don't have to bend over - hmmm, not sure that's very practical really!

I'm actually getting on OK. Thankfully the Master is as much of a crock as me and needs to take frequent breaks. That's been giving me a chance to realign my spine and have a damn good moan and groan...oooo-arrrrr!

Well, that sort of answers my above question!
Isn't it rather annoying when you are trying to be ill though and someone else keeps getting in on the act - I hate that ;-)

poor thing. my back seems fine, but my elbows and knees are hurting in the cold. I have a paper-thin suit on and i'm frozen. brrrrr. I hope it gets better soon, and that you don't get made to do so much that you fall apart... i've run out of string to tie you back together.

Good heavens the both of you are having a go at pain recently aren't you?
Hopefully you can be looked after and that Mendi's arm will heal soon.
I hate to see the both of you feeling out of sorts.

Love the icon!

We must get the pain thing sorted out and then we can go back to what we both like best

That's not good!

Have you seen a chiropractor or osteopath? (A good one - you'll want a referral from a friend.) That makes a HUGE difference for me. The relief can be immediate (not total, of course, but still). I've got back most of the use of my right leg, thanks to my chiropractor.

Be careful, sweetie!

You might try using a cold pack along the spine ... perhaps even keeping one in the fridge at work ... especially after a hot bath. I know heat is lovely for shutting up aching muscles, but I have trouble with it further irritating annoyed nerves.)

The Japanese patches we use are great because they come in two varieties: One that feels cold and the other that feels warm
