He's a 6-month old ram lamb who was born abnormally late in the season. Sadly, he has had to be isolated because he's too small to run with the other ram lambs who would but him to bits and too old to remain with his Mum and all the other ewes. He's in a stable on his own, but has other sick, lame and weary sheep alongide him. We haven't a clue what we'll do with him, but for now he's Lewis.
I'm going to have to photograph him now aren't I? ;@)
I don't know if you saw the post where I mentioned sheep showering? Well Lewis went through the sheep shower along with all the other male lambs (tups) who are older thn him. They all got a thorough soaking which sufficed to wash all their smell off them and make them all pretty miserable. When we turned them back out into the field they were more concerned about finding food, drying out and keeping warm than fighting each other.
Lewis seems to have settled down very well and I check on him and his mates at least twice a day. He's certainly holding his own and has even been seen initiating some hot ram-on-ram action! You've befriended a gay sheep!
Far too young for rosemary and garlic - grilled crusty on the outside and pink inside with flatbreads and cucumber salad dressed with mint and yoghourt.
Well one of the two lambs born over the weekend was born in the fields and will stay there unless the weather takes a really nasty turn. Mint Sauce will stay in unitl the 20 or so other ewes have lambed and then they will go out.
~smiles~ i can now transport them via memory stick and play with them on my programs at home... *bounce* so any pictures emailed i can play with from the comfort of my mattress...
