I've been having a busy time of it lately and not had a chance to catch up.

Last weekend saw Ivan, Maggie and I heading down to the 'Nham to spend a lovely weekend with ever more lovely [personal profile] sarah_mum whilst Alex went off to scout camp and [profile] the_mendicant spent her anniversary weekend with [personal profile] robinbloke. There was much wizardry afoot in Cheltenham and I really enjoyed the chance to chat, relax and snuggle. V-day dropped in on Tuesday with another flying visit from my lovely Chum. We had fizz, chocolates, and an indoor picnic in front of a roaring fire.

The week at the farm was long and hard, but productive. My neck had finally stopped hurting and so I was able to ease myself back into full duties. This culminated in a hard day on Friday where we showered the entire sheep flock to treat them for all sorts of nasties. Unsurprisingly, we chose not to use organo-phosphates; this is a shame as I would have had the perfect excuse for my madness! ;@) For reference we have a flock 95 ewes and hogs (last year's female lambs), 18 tups (last year's male lambs), one ram and 11 lambs (well that was Friday, we now have 16 lambs when I checked earlier this morning!) I was very tired when I headed home on Friday evening. However, my day still wasn't over as I had to give Maggie a bath, make chicken and chips for the dinner, pack a bag for Picocon, have a bath and do a weekly grocery shop with my Mam. My final job of the day was to return to the farm one last time to check that the lambs were re-bonding with their mothers after their quite traumatic showering. The process had washed a lot of the smell off them and so there was quite a bit of confusion amongst the younger generation. Thankfully they all seemed to have sorted themselves out with no casualties.

I didn't sleep well and woke tired for Picocon. Despite this I had a good time and met up with a lot of special friends and caught up on some much-needed hugs. This was my first Picocon and I particularly enjoyed the fact that it was so tiny! Even so, I still managed to miss a programme item I was looking forward to. I was supposed to stay over in London for the night. However, by 20:30 I realised just how tired I was and set off back to the Land of Rut. I'm sorry if people were concerned about my swift exit. Do not fear...I will be back!

I'm home now and am planning to catch up on some more sleep with a crafty afternoon snooze before roasting up some Northfield Beef for a traditional dinner for the boys, Mam and myself. I'm not sure when [profile] the_mendicant will be back from her girly weekend with [profile] nannyo and a visit to her parents. if she's early there may even be some dinner for her! ;@)

Woah, slow down there - you are making the rest of us look bad!
Glad you had fun at Picocon - I only went to a few, but it was my very first con ever, so they will always have a soft spot in my heart!
Now just slow down a bit and stop making the rest of us feel guilty!

I know I should slow down. Sadly, it's a skill I've never developed. However, I'm really good at feeling exhausted and running myself into the ground :@)

Well, in that case I feel obliged to take myself off to bed ridiculously early on your behalf and have a lovely early night.
It's the least I can do, really.....

Well, I had a lovely early night, zonked straight off to sleep and had a good solid 10 hours before some idiots alarm went off (oh, yeah, it was mine...) and I had to get up for work, but all in all a nice long sleep with some odd dreams thrown in for a bit of light relief - so I hope you feel better for it!
No, really, don't mention it - my pleasure.

Friday sounds quite mad!

Glad you enjoyed Picocon; am a bit disturbed by image of you driving alllllllll the way home because you were ... to tired to stay? But you arrived in one piece, so no harm done.
