Tuesday
First day back at work since the holiday and a bit of a slow start as I went in late after taking Evan to his latest film project with Moviemakers in Stamford. This half-term's offering will be a pirate piece and so Ev was outfitted quite spectacularly from the LARPy wardrobes of [personal profile] sarah_mum and [personal profile] robinbloke. He looked fair fit to swash a buckle or two. I finally got to work at about 11am only to find that the great new satnav had been stolen from one of our vans on the day we got it! And from outside a pub just round the corner from [profile] abigail_42's in Nottingham. What a place to live! I just got on with stuff as I know where most of the pubs we deliver to are by now.

Wednesday
Another day, another dollar or so and another 30 odd barrels of beer to deliver. The barrels seemed heavier than usual today. It must have been the week away not lifting anything. I was being Dad's taxi's again and took Evan to and from Satamford from filming. The Brewery are very understanding with allowing me to take time drive him about. He even got to help me with a delivey as I needed to make an early evening drop at one pub after I'd picked Evan up. He wasn't up to rolling a full barrel ;@) Being at work had helped we escape a hectic day at home as Kate prepared for the arrival of my Mam and for her own departure to the Flouncy Blouses' Picnic in Gothby. It was good to see my Mama nd we spent a pleasant evening watching TV. I managed to catch one of the many repeats of the first two episodes of Torchwood. Most entertaining, but quote of the year has to be when one of the geeks was talking about (Group) Captain Jack's greatcoat..."Period military is not the choice of a straight man!" Should I dust off my RAF Uniform then? ;@)

Thursday
Quite a few miles for me today...
2 trips to Stamford with Evan = 64 miles
Beer deliver during the day = 140 miles
Drive down to the 'nham = 100 miles

I was so glad to get away and head down to see Sarah because it was her birthday. I wish I could have been with her all day, but it was not to be. However, we made of the most of our evening together and had a wonderful meal at the No12 Restaurant. We both had a sumptous meal and, "Ate more dinner than Michael Winner!" I think she liked her cards and pressies too. Full marks and praise must go to the delightful [personal profile] siani_hedgehog for being suoer-sneaky and ensuring that one of Sarah's presents was extremely fit for purpose :@)

Friday
An early start for me for the trip back to Rutland and then I was confined to the cellar for the rest of the day to give it a lot of bottle. We were bottling up beer ready for Christmas sales. In the end two of us worked our way through 88 gallons of beer. Which resulted in 64x12 bottles...and they all had to be carried up two flights of steps to be stored in a warm place for the next two weeks. Boy was I pooped at the end of it all.

Saturday and Sunday
More rushing about for me today - there's a surprise! ;@) Evan had to be taken into Stamford for the final day of shooting. Alex and my Mam joined me and we went on into Peterborough to do a spot of shopping and returned via the Blue Bell in Helpston for a spot of lunch. The Blue Bell is one of the pubs I deliver to and does pretty good food. We got back to the house and I only had time for a bit of a rest before having to head back to Stamford to collect the film star. As soon as I got him back to Whissendine I ransacked his costume bag so that I had pirate gear for [profile] hawida's party. I also bashed out a tray of sushi (salmon, tuna and my current favorite...swordfish - yummmmm!). [profile] adelhied soon arrived and we travelled to Peterborough together via a quick stop at the Grainstore for me to decant about 16 pints of Steaming Billy Bitter into a suitable piratey-grog vessel (a battered old black 4 gallon barrel).

The party was a whole lot of fun and involved far too many severed heads and arms, chocolate blood (I think it was chocolate), fire, emascualted bunnies, corsets and cleavage, fireworks and other goodness. 'Twas good to see all and sundry including Max, [profile] tobesv, [personal profile] dougs, [personal profile] jamesb, stef, elvis, and [profile] eyeliner297. I'm sure compromising pictures will follow including one of me with white sticky liquid dribbling down my chin! (It was either max's brain, blancmange, both or something else entirely!) Much fancy dress was in evidence...most daubed with plenty of aforementioned chocolate blood. All except for [profile] adelhaid who seemed to have showered in the stuff to achieve a suitable Carrie-esque look to her prom dress! Remarkably I managed stay reasonably free of blood and sober and was able to drive [personal profile] adelheid back to my place so she could drive back to Nottingham. I was so glad to climb into bed and even more glad of an extra hour in bed :@)

Today has been a chore day for me and my Mam. We've done the recycling, tidied the garage, done the food prep for dinner, mown the lawn and quite a few other jobs. Gold Stars for us then.

I'm going to take the rest of the afternoon fairly easily apart from cooking dinner for the 4 of us and Kate and Robin who have said that they will be back for dinner. That'll be the first time that my Mam meets Robin and will be...something

I think it is us lowering the tone of the neighbourhood ;)
Sherlock was warned on his first day not to leave his satnav in the car - sorry - didn't think to say anything.
Have a peaceful afternoon with any luck - the boys are running amok and screaming a lot - I blame Halloween! My head feels as if it ought to be oozing blood ;)
