(That was the Whitby that was!)

Just time for a quick post to tell you that Whitby was great fun. The Birthday Girl and I raced up North on Friday and went straight for a scrumptious birthday lunch at a lovely restaurant that we're keeping to ourselves ;@) Suitably refreshed (and with Sarah suitably fueled with beer and wine) we set about turning the Citroen into a Pervertible - curtains were rigged and airbeds inflated..and then the prospect of spending a cold night in the back of a car whilst drunk came home to roost. Another plan was needed. Sarah decided that it would be worth seeing if the Torist Office still had any rooms. No such luck; the nice lady told us that there was a Gothic Music Festival on. So it's offical We are not Goths! We needed a plan C. Thankfully the lovely [personal profile] arachne and [personal profile] giolla were kind enough to let us have sofa space. Bliss! Thanks guys.

Much fun was gathered along the way that evening as we traipsed between the usual huants and eventually ended up at a party until sometime after 4am. Delightful people were seen, many beers were drunk and double-plus hugs were exchanged. A and G's floor was most welcoming. Saturday morning saw Sarah and wondering which poor souls had ended up with the hangovers that we definitely deserved. We didn't worry for long and soon perambulated into Whitby and managed to not buy and Goth-tat at all! The evening was not dis-similar to the night before - beers and hugs, but this time with added [personal profile] gashinryu playing at the Spa. A whole spectrum of sights was there to behold in the Spa. From Full-on frilly trad to crocheted day-glo cyb0rs; via far too many Captain Jacks (sadly the Sparrow variety and not swoony Mr B) I took it upon myself to compliment some lovely people on their couture.

Later on in the evening we went to meet the lovely [personal profile] jozafeen at Biddy Towers; where the residents treat "every day as a bonus." Hilarity, fun and oddness ensued with more crap Captain Jack action; Wet and Wild; and the strange and entertaining mind of [profile] ms_siobhan. Tine flew by and we almost missed the party at A and G's. However, we arrived in time to investigate the Drew's disintegrating effects of Grainstore 1050 (or was it something else that laid the young man low?) Was it really 4, 5 or 6 when we finished?

More later when I have a moment

*waves* to any new readers ;@)

Hello, its such a nice change to see myself described as 'strange and entertaining' as opposed to 'sick and disturbed' or 'demented and sick' - for some reason which I cannot fathom 'sick' seems to occur a lot.

Seeing as you are(hopefully) going to be our first vicar in the church of Diane, thought you might want to see this, the spoof ones which I may or may not have had a hand in are difficult to spot amongst the serious heartfelt 'oh Diana' type ones. Enjoy.

OMG!

I'm not sure if I mentioned on Saturday night that I probably have some "holy" relics of Herself. Quite a lot of that night is tucked away in situational memory that can only b retireved when in a similar situation.

Goodness - what have you got? but do not tell me where you live else I shall come round and try to steal them ;-)

Bet you haven't got a paperweight that has a pic of her wearing a tiara and the legend 'Lady Diane 1997 -2007 Ten Years Of Deadness' though. Thats incredibly 'speshul'.

Damn. Tis too easy for you to work out where I live (the Land of Rut is not exactly a small place!) I guess it'll have to wait until we meet each other again.

You can't possibly be a goth since you were one of the best dressed I saw all evening.

Absolutely. I would rather a man in a good suit over a goth in bad fancy dress any day (or night) of the week.

Whilst the thought of your thighs is massively distracting it did make me think of slapping thighs! (which is even more distracting!) but leads me on to wondering whatever happened to the Spa idea as all going as characters from a certain TV series? Bob!
