Day 2 - It's Jet Lag Time Again!

Oh what joy! I went to bed and straight off to sleep at the sensible time of 23:00 after 3 beers. What I didn't plan on was being awakened at 01:30 by the soft tread of footsteps on the carpet! I jumped up in the bed and slammed the light on - there was nothing there but I felt really shaken and had to get up and search the room. I eventually realised that the noise was from a noisy pump on the mini-bar fridge. However, by the time I'd discovered this little germ of information I was wide awake and then spent the next 4 hours trying to do anything and everything to get back to sleep.
At 04:50 I was so tempted to walk up to my colleagues room and slip a note under his door telling him that I had been ill in the night and would not be going into the office with him.
I still can't understand why I had an attack of conscience and have toughed it out today on coffe and coke. Oh well, I am looking forward to bitching at the hotle this evening.
In other news.....
Work is going well and the project plan has been created using a massive Post-it note session and I have just finished teaching the local team how to make pretty PERT and GANTT charts in Microsoft Project that everyone will go "Ooo" at them once and then be ignored for evermore.
As a result of the jet lag I'm not 100% certain, but I think it's Wednesday Night here in Hong Kong and I have been assured by a couple of Old Hands (Brits who've been working here for ages) that the correct thing to do this evening is to go to the Horse Races and then attend Ladies Night at the bars in Central. I feel some expensive fun coming on!
I've also seen the news of the troop deployment at Heathrow and I'm wondering if I can fly back with El Al. I like the idea of having pilots who are trained to avoid SAMs in airliners that may or may not have decoy equipment fitted.
