The Rumour Mill is Grinding Well

Apparently, I am about to move from Rutland to Oxford and accept a very senior role on a project that is based in Corby! I was working at our head office in Oxford yesterday and I had found a quiet corner to get some work done (both real work and LJ). During the course of the day I was visited in turn by three secretaries. The first, the COO’s secretary said that she expected to see more of me in Oxford. I asked why and she replied by saying the she’d heard that I’d be based in our Oxford offices from now on. Secondly, Em, the audit team secretary came to say how she’d heard that I’d been for an interview with the Programme Manager of our SAP Project who is hiring at the moment. Finally the CFO’s secretary came for a gossip and asked me if both of the stories were true.

I was able to tell all of them the Truth:

I have been speaking to the SAP Programme Manager, but in my role as Systems Audit Manager. I will be working with him for quite a bit of time over the next few months.
I am going to be spending more time in Oxford – about 2 days a fortnight, but nothing more

However, all these rumours have made me drop into my alter-ego of Captain Paranoia and I’m wondering if the chat I’ve got scheduled with my boss for Tuesday will be about certain offers he may wish to make me – hmmmmm.
