Last night got off to a very good start. I was a good house-elf and did loads of chores whilst Mendi was out at a grown-up meeting.
I was just sitting down to veg in front of the TV with a beer when Hedge phones me to say that he, Pixie and Bob are coming over for a chat and a drink, but are bringing home sundry bits of freshly shot game to clean! The mind boggles, but I agree (I know that there was perfectly logical reason to not clean the game at their house, but the subsequent booze washed all logic away) and they soon arrive. Within seconds the kitchen returns to its original use as an abattoir as aforementioned game is reduced to about 12oz of very tasty looking meat. Hedge and I have lots of fun waving bits of dead animal at the disgusted girlies and we even manage to tidy up before Mendi comes in.
By this time, the booze cupboard is open and the train wreck is in full swing as bottles are opened and quaffed with gusto. The evening end at a sensible hour as Bob needs to be taken home.
That just leaves Mendi and me to get all romantic...
