Monday
We were woken up before 06.30 by the birthday boy who was very keen to rip open his cards and presents. His maths seemed to be more than adequate for adding up all the money he seemed to get. He was very happy with his presents from Mendi, Alexi and I:
An Empire Film Soundtracks CD with something on it by a band called Ramstein? It seemed very noisy and discordant
X-Men 1.5 (Mendi is drooling already)
A Dog Alien figure
Mendi had to get into to work early and so I walked Maggie and then saw the boys across the road to school before heading to Corby. I had a fair day in work during which I actually got quite a bit done including posting far too much to LJ.
It was a pleasure to stop off at Pixie’s on the way home and listen to the Fiddler give me an impromptu concert whilst Pixie wrote Ivan’s birthday card. I finally got home and found Ivan’s birthday tea in full swing. Apparently, The ARB had been over and had expressed jealousy at the jelly and ice cream on display. Mendi immediately offered to host a kid’s birthday party for her in July – It’s a date!
Kanga arrived during the event and we went out to walk Maggie and then returned for wine before I went back to Kanga’s to hump with her! Move Ikea boxes from her car into the house you filthy minded people!

Tuesday
Working in Oxford – bleurgy day and the journey back was worse that I’d expected. Got home at 19.00ish to find Mendi having a snooze (she’s slowly getting better, but has no energy). I made food for us all and then Bizilizzie (LLL) arrived for a chat and to invite us to a pre-Show Champagne Brunch on the morning of the Rutland County Show – how nice! I left to walk the dog with Kanga and we returned to find Mendi and Bizilizzie still nattering. This seemed like a good idea to open some more red wine and write off any plans I had of doing open-heart surgery on my poorly PC. A good end to a poor day.

Wednesday
The day seems to be going OK. A fairly hassled morning, but Mendi and I still managed to co-ordinate our diaries and grab a shower (sadly not together). Got into work a bit late but no one else was here to notice! Have cleared more than a few item off my ToDo list and managed to go out at lunchtime to look at cars and have a KFC. Plodding through the afternoon and trying to decide when I can evaporate and head home! I can’t work late today because there is a Musical Evening at the boys’ school and they are both involved. Alexi is playing keyboard and Ivan is comparing and may even be doing a rap item!

Looking Forward
I’m in London tomorrow and will be meeting [personal profile] the_magician for an evening of sushi, sake and Soho shopping (Toys..hee! hee!)
At the weekend I will be Belgium and Mendi will be the Ukraine! We’re going to a very kitsch Eurovision Song Contest Party where our hosts expect to dress up in the National costume or colours of our assigned country. We’ve also got to take appropriate food and drink. I’m think of going as a frite dipped in Mayo, but Mendi seems to find much hilarity in reminding me that the frites in Belgium are of the skinny variety – harrumph! Regardless I will go bearing Beligan Beer and Chocolates and Mendi can take some Chicken Kievs and Vodka.

We're doing the sad Eurovision thing. Bottles of wine, more wine and probably Irish Coffees and the sub-titles on the telly - only way to watch them.

It'll be interesting to see those Russian Lasses.

I was trying to persuade Mendi to go in an NBC kit and say she was from Chernobyl, but she complained that she wouldn't be able to display her assets!

If you could buy one thing for me whilst Soho shopping - what would it be?

Hmmmm?

I could really get this wrong couldn't I? I suppose I could play safe and say something like a book...but nah

A leather blindfold, gag and shackles - or does that count as more than one thing? Although I suppose you've got those already?

I haven't got those already and I think I'm too shy in the bedroom to introduce them...

I had another thought. The Volvo XC70 has 7 forward facing seats and a bigger boot than the straight V70...

Just a thought ;)
