...and another thing struck me

...that this is what (poly-)family life is like too
I spent a good portion of yesterday shopping in Nottingham with the lovely Pixie's lovely daughter Bob (
snowyfeline) and Ivan. We had a hectic time and I was a star because I managed to find some Star Wars Shadows of the Empire figures for Ivan. I also managed to get some stuff for costumes for Eastercon - good Mel get bikkit!
I left Bob and the boys to look after themselves and whizzed over to Pixie's to find a very sniffly thing - we opened each other's V-day pressies - P had got me some a pair of coffee cups with crows on them. I now have a demi-tasse for my espressos and a tasse for when I want a cappocino. Pixie felt better much after cuddles and paracetamol and so I did her washing up whist she got dressed up to go out. We headed to a local Thai restaurant - The Sawadee. I think I need to learn some Thai cooking to add to my Chinese and Indian repertoie. We had a wonderful meal and will definitely go back. Pixie and I chatted about a lot of things that need things both silly and grown up and had a great time.
We got back home and curled up on the sofa in front of a roaring fire. The boys and Bob were still bimbling about when we got home, but they soon left us to ourselves. We had each the fire, music, drinks, smokes and each other...need I say more? ;@)
We've had more domestic day today, but its been lovely to spend it with Pixie
