Saturday
As usual I woke before the rest of the house and decided to make good use of my time by heading out to Tesco to do the weekly shop. It was something I had not done for some months having changed my allegiance to online shopping. I can't see me rushing to do it again because the place was packed with the great unwashed (yes I am a snob!). Anyway the online shopping fee is bloody good value for money as far as I am concerned. I came home feeling very grumpy and got sent to bed by Mendi – she always seems to know what is best for me ;@) An hour or so later I emerged to galvanise the troops into action. We took Mendi's parents up to the iron-age fort at Borough Hill. This gave all of us a chance to get LOTS of really fresh air and for Maggie to exhaust herself and get really muddy.

Alexi's godmother and her family came round in the afternoon. Melissa is one of Mendi's best friends from her school days and is great fun. She was particularly entranced by the chair of bad and wrong pleasure and happiness and I think Comet will have another customer. We lamented the fact that we see so little of each other despite living only 30 miles apart. We made plans to rectify that and will hopefully go and spend an evening with them playing board games such as Settlers of Catan and Kingmaker.

Mendi was exhausted by all the entertaining and disappeared for a nap in the early evening. This proved to be a very good thing as she needed lots of energy later! :@)

Sunday
I wanted nothing more than to snuggle up in bed all morning, but we had to get up to bid farewell to Mendi's parents and we then spent a day doing Business. I wrote up a report of a meeting with a new client whilst Mendi did the very important job of paying us! We couldn't be bothered cooking in the evening and so I picked up a takeaway as I dropped the completed report off with our new client.

Monday
My alarm went at 05:50 and I was pleased to see that there was little or no snow. Consequently, the drive in was straightforward. Nothing seemed to have changed at work whilst I was away. I'm still waiting to meet my new managers so that they can agree my Terms of Reference. So in the meantime I'm still doing background research and reading into the job. Not the most enthralling of tasks, but hey – they are still signing the cheques! ;@)

I was pleased to getaway and drive back to Rutland. Pixie was very pleased to see me and I got pounced on by a very [profile] snowyfeline. Pixie and I barely had energy self-restraint to eat a yummy supper of wine, cheese, olives and proscutio before having a bath together and tumbling into bed.

This morning, I really did not want to get up after too little sleep. However, work beckoned and I pointed the car through the deep snowfields of Rutland (all of 2mm!) It was a rotten drive with the weather making it pretty hazardous. I love snow, but it's not any fun at 6am!

Other Stuff
Mendi told me that Maggie has just come into season. We're hoping to find her a boyfriend and so Project Maggiepuppies may be live!

As part of our summer holidays Pixie and I will be spending a week camping near the sea in South West Wales. We will be accompanied by Alexi, Ivan and possibly [profile] snowyfeline. Please comment if you're interested in joining us? We're likely to be there between 6-13 August
