Well the Angiogram went without a hitch and I'm the owner of a very healthy heart with no signs of it being broken or shattered ;@)

The procedure was straightforward with a few points to remember...

1. Doing your own shave whilst standing up in a hospital loo with a crappy razor and no scissors is a real pain in the back. However, I took my time and there were no mishaps. I'm now itching like mad and have to decide if I want to remain a smooooothie for a while - what do you think?

2. After the team have squirted diye into the coronary arteries their finale is to shove a huge bolus of dye into the main heart chamber (right ventricle) to measure the size and efficiency of the heart muscle. They warned me that the flow of dye around the body would cause a feeling of heat and could make me feel that I'd wet myself. They didn't warn me that it would be absolutely trippy and light me up like a Christmas Tree - Again! Again! The team looked at me and pronounced that I was "One of those" who liked the experience!

3. Having a beautiful nurse pressing her hands into your groin for half an hour should be a pleasurable expirience. It is less so when she is doing it to stop your femoral artery from behaving like and extra off ER.

The Prof. of Cardiac Medicine has pronounced me healthy and so its back to my GP on Monday to see hwat else could be causing these pains which I'm stil getting, allbeit more and more infrequently.

Thanks to you all for your good wishes.

I decided to get my money's worth from my Private Health Insurance and went with Mendi for a consult with their Dietician earlier today. Guess what she said? I've got to eat less! No, she did offer a ot of good advice about breaking the snacking cycle and we've got to see how we get on over the next 5 weeks.

One of the things I will be doing is keeping a food diary and I've settled on the best place to do that as being LJ. So you have been warned that my updates are going to be filled with boring babble about food. That is, unless, someone wants to send me a code so that I can keep my Diet Diary on a separate Journal - you can even get to name it ;@)

Nope, the meds are what is keeping my blood pressure below blood-vessel popping limits.I will be on those for quite some time. The Doc and I may decide to reduce the Beta-Blocker dosage after my BP has been stable for a few month and if my weight has come down.
