For some reason I'm woke up at about 4.30 and my nocturnal wanderings inevitabley took me to LJ where I saw a curious post by cornaidd suggesting that you Google for your LJ username. Apparently some people can see their friends-locked posts - no drams for me. However, I did find that someone has been writing me poetry. How sweet!

Launching an Appeal

This is an interruption to your normal programme. I would like to speak to you today on behalf of the birthday appeal for the_mendicant. She is finding that, as the years advance, her memory is failing her and she needs help with remembering the old days!. Consequently, I would like to ask anyone who is coming to her party, and who has not already got her a present to consider donating to the appeal to purchase the Audio-CDs of the superb BBC History series This Sceptered Isle.
