Shearing Today

Assuming we don't get any downpours between now and midday I shall be helping shear the sheep this afternoon. Please take this opportunity to regale me with your sheep jokes and also let me know if you knitters and spinners out there want any raw wool to do your stuff with. All colours from white (muddy) through beiger, dark brown to black should be available.

The Grease Has Not Risen!

No shearing today!

I got a call from Roger, the sheep-shearer, earlier today. He told me that he wasn’t able to get to Northfield today because clipping the other flock he was doing was taking much longer than expected. Apparently, the grease had not risen! I will let your good selves offer me explanations of what this term could mean. Please use your imagination and come up with the most amusing, inventive, perverted or correct definition of the phrase the grease has not risen!

It's not all bad news as my sheep won’t suffer any distress from waiting a week or so to be clipped and it means that I can now head to the Cheltenham for some much-needed Chum-time. Is it Tuesday?
